August Special

This card, using the Animal Stories set on page 88, has a 4 1/4 by 8 1/2 base, with the image projected above the card. This is my favorite color combination at the moment; Pumpkin Pie, Rich Razzleberry and Old Olive. You throw in the coordinating Razzleberry ribbon and it's a "good thing"! Markers were used to color or highlight different portions of this image.

Remember... Stampin' Up! is running an August special. If you purchase $35 worth of sets from the Growing Up section of the SU catalog (pages 74-90), you can select a FREE set of Designer Buttons. The Designer Button choices are Playground, Sherbet or Button Latte, on page 181.

Have a wonderful weekend!

3x3 Gift Cards

Just a quick post today. These are 2 gift cards, using product from the new SU catalog. The card on the left uses Hello Again on page 114, the one on the right Circle Circus on page 129. I've used the Old Olive Patterns Designer Paper (YES, YET AGAIN!) with Hello Again because the image and paper pattern coordinate so well. New In-Colors Soft Suede and Bermuda Bay are coordinated with Certainly Celery and Cameo Coral "marbles". I mention marbles because Circle Circus reminds me of the marbles I played with on the playground when I was a kid!

Yellow Blooming

Well, Blooming Beautiful was still sitting on my stamp table, so here you go. This is a 3x3 Crushed Curry card with the Old Olive DP (Designer Paper) strip and Crushed Curry grosgrain ribbon. Sometimes, images actually look more interesting when they go off the card stock, as in this example. Have a wonderful Thursday!

Blooming Thank You

I needed to make a quick thank you card today and went to my favorite "go-to" set, Blooming Beautiful, with the "Thank You" sentiment from Fresh Cuts. I used a card sketch from Mercy Kerin (http://lordhavemercy-mercykerin.blogspot.com). When you are creatively blocked, it is fun to find a card sketch and then select a stamp set that works with that sketch.

This card base is Melon Mambo, with Basic Black and the Old Olive Patterns Designer Series Paper (Old Olive goes with all the new in-colors). An Aqua painter was used to add ink and watercolor pencil shading around the image.

Stampin' Up! Specialty Papers

I'm trying to get a post in between thunder claps!

This card looked different in my head, but that's not unusual. The SU Embrace Life set (page 104) was used to emboss images on Shimmery White card stock (page 159) and the Real Red card base. The BEAUTIFUL Groom Specialty Paper on page 158 was used as an accent. If you haven't looked at the Bride, Groom and Bridesmaid Specialty papers, check them out! They are wonderful. Lastly, Crushed Curry marker and 1/2 inch Polka Dot Grosgrain ribbon were used on the flower panel. The ribbon has 2 sides (plain and polka dotted), so that you can determine which side you want to show by twisting as you tie your bow. Initially, I was not "in love" with the new SU in-colors, but these saturated colors work SO WELL with other strong colors.

Cards from Simply Scrappin Kits

I'm continuing a theme today, using the Petal Party Simply Scrappin kit from Stampin' Up! The simply scrappin kits are a wonderful, quick way to produce scrapbooks (see chipboard album behind cards ). In this example, I used elements from the Petal Party kit to create cards. The cards were made with whisper white card stock bases, to enable production of a greater number of cards. All of the products made in this post and the previous, together, used less than 1/2 a simply scrappin kit. Obviously, a great value in terms of product and time! Jackie

Stampin' Up! Scallop Square Scrapbook

Products and Images by Stampin' Up! Created by Jackie Susnik

This is the cover and inside of a mini scrapbook made with the Stampin' Up Scallop Square Big Shot die. It is decorated with the SU Petal Party Simply Scrappin kit. The lettering was created with the Natrually Serif Big Shot Sizzlits Decorative die. A very quick and easy project to put together, especially when using a Simply Scrappin kit.

My first card entry has to be a tribute to my parents, Les and Patty. The Stampin' Up! set Golden Oldies reminds me so much of them. This card, which uses all Stampin' Up! products, is part of a gift set that I gave my Mom and Dad.

Masking was used to put 2 images from the Golden Oldies set together.
