SIP (Stamp Ink Paper) Dasher

I hope that you're not getting whip lash as I go from Halloween to Christmas. It's just where my head was today. This is another entry in the SoShelli SIP challenge.

The stamps sets used on this card are 3 of my favorites; Dasher (page 208), Circus Circles (page 129) and Teeny Tiny Wishes (page 145). I LOVE perching an animal the Circus Circles images (don't ask me why!) Card stock colors include whisper white, real red, close to cocoa and always artichoke. Markers were used to ink up Dasher, sponges to shade the card stock edges.

I must admit, I did want to use ribbon and glitter, but it works without! Below is the same card, with a couple of punched elements.

Halloween Hoot 2

Another Halloween Hoot card, using the Cast-A-Spell DP. The Circle Scissors Plus and Glass Mat were used to cut the witch image and the black mat beneath (2 inch and 2/14 inch circles respectively). More punches were used to cut out the owl and frog images, which were attached with dimensionals. Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie and Elegant Eggplant ink were applied with an aqua painter. 5/8 inch black grosgrain ribbon was used as an accent, along with paper piercing around the owl and frog.

Hint: Use Dotto adhesive to hold the paper on the Glass Mat, so that images can be cut quickly and easily.

Halloween Step Card

I got together to stamp with my friends Jo and Mary a couple of weeks ago. Jo brought Halloween Hoot on page 23 of the SU Idea Book and Catalog, for us to play with.

The Cast-A-Spell designer series paper was used to decorate the "steps" of this card. The small oval punch enabled production of pumpkins. This is just a great set!

SIP Challenge

Shelli Gardner, CoFounder and CEO of Stampin' Up! offers monthly challenges, on her website SoShelli. The August challenge is titled SIP (you are limited to Stamp, Ink and Paper, no punches or embellishments).

Above is my submission, a Christmas card made with the Snow Swirled set. The card base is Rich Razzleberry, with layers of Taken with Teal and Kraft. Creamy Caramel, Rich Razzleberry and Taken with Teal inks were used for snowflakes, sentiment and sponging.

The Taken with Teal faux ribbon was made by breaking the fibers in a strip of cardstock (pulling it against the edge of a table) and then rubbing ink on it. Small portions were doubled back and the strip was attached to Sticky Strip. Tombo Multi-Purpose adhesive was also used to glue the "loops" down flat.

Have a great Tuesday.

Lots of Bots

I wanted to highlight another set involved in the SU Growing Up special - Lots of Bots. This set can be used for card making or scrapping, children or even a masculine theme. It is a LOT of fun!

In this example, Melon Mambo and designer paper from the Tall Tales DP pack were layered over a basic gray 4x4 base. The images were stamped on Naturals White card stock and then watercolored with SU water color pencils. The sentiments were omitted when the focal images were inked. "Happy Birthday", from the Teeny Tiny Wishes set was stamped on the DP.

Happy Monday!

Look Who's Turning

This fun little set is called "Look Who's Turning" and can be found on page 72. Combining an Old Olive card base with coordinating Tall Tales Designer Paper and Rose Red 1/4 inch grosgrain ribbon, this is a quick card project. The scallop edge punch was used with a strip of So Saffron cardstock to add a little more interest. If you wanted to use a different technique, you might use markers to color different portions of the ostrich image.
