Witch's shoe

So HOW CUTE IS THIS!!   I got together with my friend Jo and she shared this shoe pattern, including the fixings!   The source for this Cutie is Ellen Hutson at this site.    Ellen graciously provides a PDF template that you can download.

In this case, SU Cast-A-Spell Designer Series Paper (page 161) was used so that the shoe had a "built-in" liner.  Ribbon and silver embossed botton  BLING were added to complete the look.

You can fill the shoe with whatever candy you wish.  You could also make different shoes for different seasons.  What a FUN decoration this would make at a wedding or wedding shower.

You can leave the shoe Open-toe, or fold the toe up for a Closed-toe look.  Putting the shoe together is fairly intuitive.  I would put the back of the shoe together first and then assemble the lower part of the heel.

You WILL NEED Sticky Strip (found on page 192) for this project, as a strong adhesive is a MUST.

Enjoy!

Falling Leaves Big Shot

Sorry that this is blurry.  I think you can still see the basics.  This card is based on a layout from Mary Brown.

This is another sample with the Falling Leaves set and coordinating jumbo wheel.  They go together soooo well.  The colors are Old Olive, More Mustard Crushed curry and Really Rust. The leaf image was inked with Crushed Curry and then the edges were raked across the Really Rust pad (Rock N Roll technique).  Several Big Shot accessories were used, including the Finial Press embossing folder, Scallop Square and Blossom Party die.   The Crushed Curry Grosgrain ribbon sets off the whole thing!

First post with my new Mac!   Yippee.

Happy stampin,
Jackie

Whoooo hoooo!

No card today...  GOT MY NEW MAC laptop!   I've been busy setting it up and still need to transfer some files. Most importantly, picture files for use with my new MDS (My Digital Studio) software from Stampin' Up!

Happy Friday!

Merry Moments Ornament Punch Card

This card is based on a concept presented by Darlene McCallum.  The Ornament punch from the Holiday Mini (page 25) was used to punch an image out of Real Red cardstock.    The Real Red layer was run through the Finial Press Big Shot Embossing Folder.  I debated using the Petals-A-Plenty folder but felt that the Designer Papers were "busy enough".  Green Merry Moments Designer Series paper was positioned behind the cut-out, which was mounted on dimensionals that were doubled, to raise it well above the background DP.

Striped Merry Moments DP was layered on Real Red cardstock, whichwas attached to the Chocolate Chip card base.   My favorite Christmas sentiment from the Teeny Tiny Wishes set (page 145) was stamped on Very Vanilla cardstock, punched with the word window punch and attached below the ornament.    Only Olive wide grosgrain ribbon loops were fastened beside the main focal point.

Is it Friday yet??

Happy Stampin,
Jackie

Brayered Cold and Cuddly

This is the Cold and Cuddly set on page 18 of the Holiday Mini.  I LOVE this set.  It lends itself to masking, which means that you stamp the animal (in this case penguin) and then stamp it off on a piece of printer paper.  Cut out the printer paper mask and use dotto adhesive (dotto is a temporary adhesive, if it does not have time to "set") to position it over the image you have stamped.  Next, stamp the iceberg.   When you remove the penguin mask, he is sitting comfortably on the ice, with no lines running through his body.

In this example, I did the following:

1.  stamped the penguin,
2.  masked the penguin, then stamped the iceberg.
3.  masked both the penguin and iceberg.  I put down a piece of paper across the iceberg (covering the sky), brayered the bottom of the card with Bashful Blue,
4.  flipped  the paper so it covered the water and brayered the sky with Regal Rose, so that the ice and penguin remained white.
5.  This was layered on Basic Black cardstock.
6.  I used a gel pen to color in lines in the water.
7.  The tag was made with the Big Shot and attached with a Bashful Blue Taffeta ribbon.

Back to the workweek!

II Dasher with Shimmer Paint Highlights

This is my old faithful Dasher stamp from page 208 of the SU catalog.  The cardstock colors for this project were Night of Navy, Mellow Moss and Always Artichoke.   I enjoy rich Christmas colors.  The Dasher image was inked with White Craft ink and then embossed with Iridescent Ice Embossing Powder (it's hard to see the sparkle from this photograph).  The Big Shot Large Scallop Die was used to cut out a scallop, which was then run thru the Petals A Plenty Big Shot embossing folder found on page 21 of the Holiday Mini.  I then cut off a portion of the scallop to offset it on the card.  The snowflakes from Snow Swirled and sponged edges were produced with the Platinum Shimmer paint from page 27 of the Holiday Mini.

The Shimmer paints dry VERY quickly.  The Champaign color shimmer paint is very transparent when applied to cardstock, while Platinum and White are much more opaque colors.  Sponge daubers (page 192) are used to apply the Shimmer Paint to stamps or cardstock.

Happy Labor Day!

New My Digital Studio (MDS) Software

Sorry that I've been quiet. I've been busy planning a Christmas  show for October.  Just 1 more item to design and I'll send out an invitation.

I did want to mention the October RELEASE of the MDS (My Digital Studio) software that is presented in the Holiday mini.  IT IS AMAZING!!!  The MDS software enables you to make scrapbook pages, calendars, and cards, with predesigned templates or from scratch. Print out your own pages, or purchase book publishing services to obtain a hard cover version of your scrapbook. You can export your creation to a printer, DVD or as a jpeg for use with a digital photo album.  It encorporates SU images, colors, Simply Scrappin kits and embellishments.    You can  point at a picture file and tell the software to import all of the pictures into a set of templates and have the scrapbook created, ready for journaling, in less than a MINUTE.  It is VERY Kewl!

I will "show and tell" more about the MDS, so keep an eye out!
