Starburst with Spiral Flower Closure

I hope that you have had lots of time to soak up ideas
from our Blog Hop.  It was amazing fun!!

To build on the Blog Hop projects that I presented,
I wanted to post this card as a follow-up.
I had used this card base and SAB Sweet Sorbet DSP
with my club this week, to produce a card that tied shut
with the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch (Occasions p 35).
I was challenged with what else I could do with the
Spiral Flower Originals Die (Occasions p 32).  I was "craving" an
option that allowed me to send it in the regular mail.
This closure is what I came up with.  It works great
and looks kind of cool!  It's a very happy closure.

February Wacky Watercooler Hop

Welcome to the Wacky Watercooler Hop!!
You've likely just arrived from Gail's blog.
http://stampingandotherstuff.blogspot.ca
Her projects were wonderful! I love the fact that
this is an "international" hop, with both the
US and Canada represented.

So..... here are my contributions:

The SAB offerings are really wonderful this year.
I'm not a "banner person", but I really like the
because it can be used for other projects.
Scrapbook pages are quick and easy to produce,
because the materials are all cut and ready to position.

This is a picture of my (now) 26 year old niece.
Such a wonderful memory!  Hard to believe she is
taking time from her job in frigid MN and visiting my
Mom in AZ this week!
I trimmed her picture with the Starburst Framelits.

Colors:  Primrose Petals, Heartfelt Banner Kit

My second project is a 3x6 card, featuring the Fresh Prints
& Word Bubbles Bundle on page 36 of the Occasions brochure.

For bling, I added some Gold Sequin Trim, and a couple flowers
made from Simply Pressed Clay (p 167).  The flowers work
well with that flowered pattern!

(3 different designs),  Pool Party Textured paper

My final project uses one of the new tag punches;
In the picture above, a card technique with tie closure,
that has been circulating the internet, is presented beside
the 3-1-3-1 box.  I made a band, with the
Scallop Tag Topper Punch, as a closure for the box.

I made the box and then "finished" the top by
running it through the Big Shot Top Note Die.
Because the top was 4 thicknesses, I had to run it
thru a Bigz die, rather than a framelit die.
I'm not sure if I like it any better than I did when
the top was just a straight line.... but then stamping is
"an experiment",  right?
You just kind of do what you feel, until it feels done.

It this closeup, it shows that I decided to add butterflies,

I added the butterflies because this box with band and bottom
trim (made with the Tasteful Trim die) started to look like a 2 piece bathing suit to me.
I felt that adding butterflies would dispel that notion!

Gold CASEd Heart Card

This is a CASE of a card by Jennifer Timko
that was posted on www.stampinup.com.
SU posts information and samples
on this blog.
Jennifer used Gesso on her card, but I opted
to use toilet paper.  Years ago, there was a technique
in which you wet toilet paper and then let it dry.
You could also apply reinker color with an aqua painter.

Just Sayin in Green

I haven't posted many of my completed
Just Sayin' cards, so guess I better get to it.
The Just Sayin' set, with coordinating
Word Bubbles Framelit Dies is a great combo,
with fun sentiments for so many situations.

For the "hey nephew" bubble, I used the "hey"
from Just Sayin' and added "nephew" from the
Family Reunion set.  Then cut the combo out with a
different word bubble.  The beauty if it is that you can
stamp a variety of messages and use whatever word bubble
that fits, to cut them out with your Big Shot.
