Stamp Off Favorite New Set Challenge

Welcome back to another Friday Stamp Off Challenge
with Buffy, Susan and myself.  Our challenges
always brighten the end of my week!
This week, our challenge is to make a project using
our favorite stamp set from the new 2016-17
Stampin' Up! catalog.   I suspect that Buffy and Susan
don't even have to guess which set I will use!
As I mentioned in THIS post, I have family members
who live in cactus (and scorpion!) country.

The Birthday Fiesta Bundle on page 11 gets the job
done when I need birthday or happy occasion card for them.
Nothing makes me smile more than stamping this
set and having all sorts of options for "accessorizing"
this little llama/alpaca.  I got the idea for the hat here,
although I used a different framelit for the tall version.
It reminds me of the hats worn by South Americans
who actually use these talented pack animals.

Having seen the cactus in bloom, it's hard for me to
attach a cactus to a card, without including a flower.
Now click on over, to see which catalog sets
Susan and Buffy selected as their favorites.

Feather Together Sometimes

The Feather Together set on page 108 is wonderful,
for a host of reasons; an option for masculine cards,
delightful font and Two to Three step stamping.
The variety of feather stamps allows you to layer colors.
In this example, I used my new fav combination,
Flirty Flamingo and Watermelon Wonder.

I left the card very CAS, because it doesn't need
anything else!

Flourish with Sunshine Sayings

The Flourish Thinlits on page 194 are incredibly elegant.
You can use the "positive" cut-out, or the negative,
creating a variety of looks.  In this case, I layered a black
flourish over a piece of Festive Birthday Designer Series
paper (page 173), which is the DSP that goes with
Birthday Fiesta (the Llama/Alpaca) set! Yellow,
black and red create such a beautiful combination,
that this was a no-brainer.

I added the sentiment from Sunshine Sayings (page 97),
as I have several family members with anniversaries
coming up.

I colored White Perfect Accents (page 177) with a red
sharpie marker and added them to the flourish.

Overall, this was a pretty quick card, that packs
an impact.  Hopefully it will be appreciated by the recipients!

Tempting Birthday Fiesta on Melon Mambo

The new Stampin' Up! catalog is one of the best in years,
and this is my favorite set.  I simply LOVE the Birthday Fiesta
(page 11), with coordinating Fiesta Time Framelit Dies
(on page 193).   This llama/alpaca just makes me smile
every time I stamp it.  Also, because I have relatives out west,
I have a great set that I can use for their cards.
The coordinating Framelits, which you can get as a
bundle for 10% off, make it a snap to add coordinating
pieces that complete this set.

The other interesting thing is that for the banners,
you run them through your Big Shot FIRST, and then
stamp them.  There are a number of designs to stamp
on your banner, so that you can make your card more
masculine or feminine (geometric shapes or flowers).

This bundle also has coordinating Festive Birthday
Designer Series Paper (page 173) and a coordinating
Festive Textured Impressions Embossing Folder
on page 195.  In the sample above, I used the Sparkle
Textured EF.

Rest assured, you will see LOTS of cards using this bundle.
I can't stop picking it up!
